COVID-19

Hello Everyone,

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns grow, we feel it is important to address our plans for your health and safety while you visit our establishment. We have always tried to have a family feel and an unintended consequence (a good one) is that we have become a community center for Alexandria and its surrounding areas. Members of our executive team have been discussing options at great lengths and ensuring we are following guidelines and updates put out by the CDC. With that said we are implementing the following in order to help prevent the spread of the virus:

  • First and foremost, we are NOT CLOSING or canceling any event at this time, with the exception of the Girl Scout Cookie Pairing (due to school closings). We will continue to follow CDC recommendations and will announce if anything changes.

  • We are encouraging anyone, staff or guest, to stay home if they feel ill. This is for the health of others.

  • We currently use a very effective cleaner/sanitizer solution. However, we are switching our cleaning/sanitizing spray to isopropyl alcohol for certain tasks. This is proven to eliminate bacteria and viruses better than any other sanitizer.

  • You may see our staff wearing gloves for gathering trash, bussing tables, cleaning our doors, etc.

  • We are moving to disposable cups vs our regular glassware. While we strongly believe that proper glassware usage enhances the beer experience, this step will eliminate potential contact points for our staff. We apologize in advance. Four Mile Pig, our food partner, will also be switching to disposable food containers.

  • We are asking our guests to please throw their own cup away when they finish a beer instead of leaving it on their table. Again, our goal is to eliminate points of contact for everyone.

  • We are suspending all growler fills until further notice. No outside glassware will be permitted into our establishment.

What can you do?

Treat it the same way you would treat any place during cold & flu season.

Per CDC:

If you are sick, stay home.

Avoid Close contact with those who are sick or who are showing symptoms.

Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces, especially handheld devices.

If you have to sneeze or cough and you do not have a tissue available, use the “vampire method” – coughing/sneezing into the inside of your elbow with your arm bent at roughly 45 degrees.

Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes with unwashed hands.

Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds using antibacterial soap and warm water. If you do not have access to soap and water, use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.

Clean or change your bed linens weekly.

We pride ourselves in the cleanliness of our taproom. Our staff has always gone above and beyond to make sure your experience here is positive and we believe that starts with presentation. While we do believe the COVID-19 to be a true threat, we also want to ensure we have taken every step to allow you to continue enjoying Alexandria Brewing Company. As always, we appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you soon.

Cheers,

Andy Reynolds
